Miramundo Future Plans
Finca Miramundo now covers more than 60 acres of shade grown
beans. We will conservatively plant more Arabica, as our
finca finds sustainability and as the market responds. Processing
and marketing procedures are evaluated continuously (upgraded
as needed) so that our coffee is sustainable not only environmentally,
but economically as well.
Coffee
and banking organizations throughout the world have been
encouraging coffee producers to plant “alternative
crops” to soften the blow of low world market prices.
We have come to realize, however, that tourism can more
effectively provide additional revenues needed to sustain
our coffee finca.
One-year
old plants are carefully tended.
In addition to producing superior coffee, Mt. Miramundo
is a dramatically beautiful place to visit. Our buyers and
close friends who had the chance to see the farm supported
our interest in integrating an element of agro-tourism into
our operations. Knowing that coffee lovers are interested
in the region in which their coffee comes from as well as
the process by which their coffee is made, we have opened
our farm to tourism.

In
the process, we have created a resource in the heartland
of great Central American coffees, where visitors
become friends and leave with a deeper understanding
of the forces creating superior Central American
coffee.
Our
first series of visitors describe Miramundo as, “a
world apart”, “full of breathtaking views”, “stunningly
beautiful”, “a new-found pleasure with
each visit”.
Visiting
our coffee farm and learning the process that goes
into producing a superior cup of coffee, getting a
chance to meet cosecheros and helping out during harvests,
picking up regional coffee-inspired recipes, and tasting
our estate Arabica at our 4,000 foot high farm personalizes
and deepens the coffee experience. |
We
look forward to welcoming you to Miramundo. We are
sure you will leave with fond memories and a better
understanding of coffee’s unique production
cycle and the cool mountainous environment that nurtures
it.
Our
aims are to assure that you will be able to enjoy and
serve Café Miramundo with confidence for many
years to come, that Honduran coffee will become known
for its true richness and quality, and that our finca
can make a positive difference in the lives of the
cosecheros dedicated to producing the very best Honduran
Arabica. |
